Day 17 - 8/31/11

Today feels like it should be Thursday. I am tired. I normally do not workout on Saturday but I did this week's killer WOD and it just caught up to me today...today is the last day to try to get 5 kipping pull ups in a row for Steph.

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
2 cups with 3 Sweet Thing and 2 tbsp of hwc
These almonds are TOO GOOD. And a plum!
Levy's Kosher. Schwarma Pita which got almost eaten with salad and a diet Snapple.I have YET to finish a meal here.

Zona Fresca Chicken Cali Wrap (lettuce, chicken, tomato, lettuce and avocado) YUMMERS!!!

WHAT I WORKED OUT TODAY:

This was difficult and 45 lbs. was more than enough...even though Mary said my form was great, some days are just a little less intense than others. Still nursing blisters from Tuesday night kettle bells.

Day 16 - 8/30/11

I am a little sore from the workout last night but not too bad...and I did not DNF by 51 whole seconds!!! Looking forward to the LONG weekend and swinging some BIG bells tonight!




WHAT I ATE TODAY:


2 cups coffee with 3 Sweet Thing, 2 tbsp hwc

Lunch at Angus...salad with EVOO and Balsamic Vinegar
Churrasco steak with chimichurri and steamed vegetables...no folks, I DID NOT eat the bread.....BOOM!
Now I am getting creative with some of my pics. Arizona Diet Raspberry tea at 2pm.

5pm snack...plum and almonds.

The best dinner ever. Grilled Buffalo Chicken(lil bleu cheese dressing, potatoes(lil ketchup), salad (lettuce, tomato, grapes, Gorgonzola, almonds, Ken's Lite Balsamic Vinaigrette) and YES, I licked the plate clean!



WHAT I WORKED OUT TODAY:


Amaze-bells kettle bell workout. I swung 20kg and did all the R/L work with 12kg. Stephanie was a huge motivator for me tonight...thanks Steph! I did get a couple really choice blisters tonight too...

Day 15 - 8/29/11

A new week, a new day, a new Monday. I feel great from the weekend...still a little sore from pushing the sled on Saturday but looking forward to the week...

WHAT I ATE TODAY:

2 cups of coffee, 3 Sweet Thing, 2 tbsp hwc
Snack/lunch combo including hummus, carrots and an Arnold Palmer ZERO
4pm snack of a HUGE peach and about 10 roasted almonds

Amaze-balls salad with sliced NY Strip (Saturday leftovers), tomato, lettuce, Gorgonzola, sliced grapes, sliced almonds and Bob's Lemon Vinaigrette dressing


WHAT I WORKED OUT TODAY:

I am actually glad I didn't eat too much right before this workout because I thought I was gonna hurl at least twice during the WOD. 29:09 of pure PUMP! I love Monday workouts because I am fresh off a rest day. Tomorrow we swing the BIG bells.

Day 14 - 8/28/11

Sunday, Fun Day, REST DAY!!! This is all about the food. I loosened up the chains a bit.


WHAT I ATE TODAY:
1 BIG cup of Coffee with 2 Sweet Thing and 1 tbsp hwc, 2 slices French Toast w/ a lil Lite syrup (bad sugar!) and Scrambled Eggs with 2 slices bacon (It's SUNDAY!!!)
Hummus and tortilla chips (just a few)
One Arnold Palmer (Crystal Light Lemonade and Sweet Tea Vodka)
Tortilla Chips and Salsa while Nicole ate her lunch at 4pm ( a lil bit more than a few)

5pm I split her leftovers (Steak burrito from Zona Fresca) with Jen
Dinner of plantains, grilled Buffalo Chix breast (bleu cheese dressing) and potato coins

James and the GIANT PEACH!! (after dinner)
Edy's No Sugar Added Ice Cream right before bed AGAIN (because I am weak and I know I cannot buy it ANYMORE!!!) Tomorrow is the start of WEEK #3 (already!) and time does fly when you are kicking everyone else's ASS!

Day 13 - 8/27/11



WHAT I ATE TODAY:
Pre workout hydration
English Muffin (dry) with bacon, egg, and cheese from DD
One nice Arnold Palmer for the pool (Sweet Tea Vodka and Crystal Light lemonade)


4 Spare Ribs and BBQ Sauce from Tom Jenkins
NY Strip steak (ate half of this) with potato coins and asparagusGorgonzola salad at the MMA fights

WHAT I WORKED OUT TODAY:


Partner WOD on Saturday (which I haven't been to in months!). We pushed a 225lb sled and we did the whole thing in 23:23. I posted this pic instead to show how GORGEOUS we look after sweatin' it out! UNCLE BOB IS IN THE HOUSE PEOPLE!!!

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
One cup of coffee, 2 Sweet Thing, 1 tbsp hwc

Sweet Tomatoes Salad and Barley soup for lunch (with water)

Salad with Boar's Head Jerk turkey, Gorgonzola, Bob's dressing, tomatoes and sliced almond with Arnold Palmer ZERO
Pluot after dinner...
Munchies/sweets attack - 4 of these (saltine with PB & J)

A glass to wash the week down with...Cabernet

WHAT I WORKED OUT TODAY:

Extraordinary punishment in 30 minutes or less or your pizza is FREE!

Day 11 - 8/25/11

WHAT I ATE TODAY:
2 cups with 2 1/2 Sweet Things and 2 tbsp of hwc
Levy's Kosher - Schwarma Pita (lamb, turkey, hummus, Isreali salad, spicy stuff and tzatziki sauce) I ate about 2/3 of the pita and 3-4 bites of rice and beans
Arnold Palmer ZERO and WATER throughout the day babes...Pork Tenderloin, Asparagus and Potatoes (with a lil ketchup and bleu cheese dressing)
Grapes at 10pm...hungry!

WHAT I WORKED OUT TODAY:

Kettle bells...good workout! Lifted 12kg and swung 16kg

The week is ALMOST over!

Day 10 - 8/24/11


25% completed as of today. This contest is FLYING by...I need to employ a full time massage therapist to rub me constantly...oh, to dream. Today is Wednesday and I slept like a dream. I sleep AMAZING these days. I am a SWEATY BEAST at the end of every workout (not great for the social aspect, but oh well) and I'm really trying to step it up. I got 2 kipping pull ups in a row last night...and my goal is 5 by 8/31. I shook hands with Stephanie on it so I can't let her down...I weighed myself this morning too and I am down 6 lbs since the start of these WONDERFUL SIX WEEKS!


WHAT I ATE TODAY:

1 big cup of coffee with 1 1/2 Sweet Things and 1 tbsp of hwc11am snack of a pluot, some roasted almonds and my ZERO Arnold Palmer in a can
Lunch at 1:30 at the Ale House. Grilled Chicken salad (big surprise) with Gorgonzola, tomato, lettuce, Craisins, spicy almonds and apples with a Gorgonzola Vinaigrette dressing
Zona Fresca for dinner at 8:30pm. Chicken Cali wrap. I left some of the tortilla shell and did not eat all the tortilla chips

WHAT I WORKED OUT TODAY:

Hello Helen! I made it under the 30 minute time limit. This means I am becoming a more efficient athlete. I did not DNF. This is important to me because I am extremely competitive. So much so that I need to keep my ego and mouth in check. Remember Lauren, you have been a sore loser in the past. Keep your mouth closed and your heart open! Go get em'!!
